The transformation of our perspectives is based on our prior experiences

Learning Research uses two concepts of learning experiences:
informative learning, meaning we collect and store information and transformative learning, meaning our perspectives, beliefs and worldviews change.

The transformation of our perspectives is based on our prior experiences and sparked by a conflict between our expectations and our new discoveries.

While in some contexts, we struggle to let go of wrong expectations and biases, playful spaces are fruitful grounds to allow transformative learning experiences.

The as-if mode of games, the immersion, the explorative space and the trial-and-error mindset allow us to be more open for change.

Finally, the learners need to be able to not only connect the learning experience form the play space to their individual beliefs and worldviews, but also integrate it.
